Indian Express gets new look in Bangalore.

December 29, 2008

i was in bangalore for a conference. while i was staying at red mount hotel in cottenpeth near majestic, the day’s copy of indian express crossed my hands.

  1. the newspaper logo gets a new look.
  2. google’s blogger service being used to fetch content?

now back in pune i haven’t seen the new look yet. so that was only for bangalore? i recall not even seeing bangalore’s name on the circulation city list. wierd.

The newspaper that you saw in Bangalore was ‘The New Indian Express’ while the newspaper that is circulated in Pune is ‘The Indian Express’ They are two different newspapers. Originally it was the same newspaper edited by Ramnath Goenka, After his death, the Southern and Eastern Editions were sold to his foster son Manoj Sonthalia who now runs it as the New Indian Express, headquartered out of Chennai. The Western and Northern editions headquartered in Mumbai are run by Vivek Goenka retaining the original name.
